Researchers have found that when mixing coffee and honey together, the bioaccessibility of phenolic contents and antioxidants from both the coffee and honey is increased. In plain language, when mixed, coffee and honey make each other even better superfoods! See here for more details on that.
We love to have our morning coffee with freshly ground organic coffee beans, we add:
- tablespoon of good quality collagen
- teaspoon of Manuka honey
- finished with activated almond milk
Try adding the Manuka honey last once the coffee has cooled a little to retain the beneficial bioactive compounds. Don’t throw away your used coffee grounds, use them in the next recipe.
Coffee grinds & Manuka honey mask
For the mask mix 2 tablespoons of coffee grinds with 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey. You can rub into your skin to get some exfoliation from the coffee grinds and then leave for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
Great for hens dos, baby showers or high tea event where you want to pamper your guests. If you do not have the coffee grinds a simple Manuka honey facial is also a treat, just moisten face, add Manuka honey and leave for 15 minutes, gently wash off with warm water.
